Italy is a popular destination for international students, and it offers numerous scholarships to make studying there more accessible. Whether you’re interested in pursuing MBBS, engineering, or any other field, Italy provides a variety of scholarship options that can help reduce your educational costs.
A full scholarship in Italy covers your tuition fees, accommodation, and in some cases, even travel and medical expenses. This is a fantastic option for Bangladeshi students, as it can help cover most of your living expenses while you study in Italy.
If a full scholarship isn’t available, a partial scholarship can still be a huge help. These scholarships may cover half or even more of your tuition and accommodation costs, making studying in Italy an affordable option for international students.
If you choose not to apply for a scholarship, studying in Italy without one is still possible. Many public universities in Italy offer low or no tuition fees, and living costs are relatively affordable compared to other European countries. On average, you may need around €2,000 to €8,000 per year for tuition, depending on the university and program.

When preparing for your study abroad journey to Italy, it’s essential to have all the required documents in place. Here’s a list of the key documents you’ll need to successfully apply for a student visa and secure your spot in an Italian university:
Your passport is your most important travel document. Make sure it’s valid for at least six months from your intended date of arrival in Italy. If your passport is nearing expiration, renew it before applying for your student visa.
You’ll need to submit a clear, recent passport-sized photo to complete your application. This photo should meet the standards required by the Italian embassy or consulate. Make sure it’s a well-lit, high-quality photo with no shadows.
To apply for your university program, you’ll need to submit your academic certificates and transcripts. This includes:
SSC Certificate (Secondary School Certificate)
HSC Certificate (Higher Secondary Certificate)
Bachelor’s Degree Certificate (if applying for a Master’s program)
Transcripts for each level (SSC, HSC, and Bachelor) to demonstrate your academic history and performance.
These documents show your academic qualifications and progress, giving the university an idea of your readiness to succeed in your studies.
Most universities in Italy require proof of English proficiency. The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is the most commonly accepted test. To meet the requirement, you’ll need a minimum score of 6.0. Keep in mind that some universities may ask for a higher score, so it’s best to double-check the specific requirements for your chosen university.
If your previous education was conducted in English, you may submit a Medium of Instruction Certificate from your institution. This certificate confirms that your courses were taught in English, potentially waiving the need for an IELTS score in some cases.
For students applying to a Master’s program, two Recommendation Letters are a must. These letters should come from professors or professionals who are familiar with your academic or work performance. They will help the university assess your potential to succeed in a graduate program.
A well-crafted CV (Curriculum Vitae) is essential for your application. Include details of your academic achievements, work experience, internships, and extracurricular activities. This is your chance to showcase your strengths and make a strong impression on the admissions team. Ensure your CV is up-to-date and in .docx format.
Double-check for accuracy: Make sure all the documents are accurate, complete, and translated (if required).
Get everything notarized: In some cases, official documents like your transcripts or recommendation letters may need to be notarized or authenticated.
Prepare early: Gather all the documents well in advance to avoid any last-minute rush.
With these documents ready, you’ll be one step closer to pursuing your dreams in Italy! If you need any assistance or guidance with the documentation process, Step Study Abroad is here to help every step of the way. Reach out to us for expert advice and support!
